Hana Zare
Hana Zare Karasadi (Shiraz, 1997) is a painter based in Groningen, the Netherlands. She studied Painting at Alzahra University in Tehran, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in 2021, and later moved to the Netherlands to complete her Master’s in Painting at the Frank Mohr Institute, Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
Her work explores imagined landscapes that intertwine memory, myth, and the natural world. Through thin, transparent layers of paint, she creates scenes that evoke both familiarity and distance, often reflecting on the lost connection between people and nature.
Hana’s paintings have been exhibited at the Iran Artist Forum in Tehran, the Rooyesh Festival, and other group exhibitions. She was selected as the Outstanding Artist of the 9th Rooyesh Domestic Festival in 2021. She currently lives and works in Groningen, where she continues to develop her painting practice and research themes of belonging, storytelling, and the symbolic presence of nature in contemporary life.
